Chrome or silver text effect
In this blog I will show you how to create a shiny silver or chrome text effect in Adobe Photoshop!
Would you rather watch the video with instructions? Then click here or scroll down to the end of this page.
Step 1: Create file and text
First create a new file. My file is 1920 x 1080 pixels. You can also use a different file size, but you will have to use different settings then. I will get back to that later.
Also pick a background color while creating the file. This effect looks best on a dark background (so I make the background black).
Then select the horizontal type tool. Make the text color white and pick a font. Then type your text.
When you’re done typing the text, click on the ✓ icon.
Press CTRL+T to activate free transform. You can now resize and/or move your text.
Step 2: Chrome silver text
Click on the fx icon below your layers and select ‘Bevel & Emboss‘.
You can find the settings I used in the image below. If your file size is different than mine, these settings won’t give you the same result. You might have to adjust some of the settings then to get the same effect.
And that’s all you have to do to create this silver chrome text effect in Adobe Photoshop!
