Split color text
In this blog I will show you how to create a split color text with a wave effect in Adobe Photoshop.

Step 1: Preparations
Create a new file. It doesn’t matter what size the file is. My file is 1920 x 1080 pixels with a black background.
Select the horizontal type tool. Pick a font and color and type your text. Half of the text will be this color.
Then select the move tool and press CTRL+T to activate free transform. You can now resize and/or move the text.
Step 2: Double colored text
Select the rectangle tool. Use the following settings:
- Select ‘shape’
- Fill: Pick a color (half of the text will be this color)
- Stroke: No color
Now make a rectangle that covers half of the text.
Press CTRL+T. Right click on the rectangle and select ‘warp‘.
You can now move the anchor points to create a wave effect.
When you’re done with this, click on the ✓ icon. If you get a notification about turning a live shape into a regular path, you can select ‘yes’.
Right click on the rectangle layer and select ‘create clipping mask‘. Half of the text now has a different color!
And that’s how you create a split color text with a wave effect in Adobe Photoshop!
